This week as we zone in on our purpose for fasting as a group, continue to pray for one another and I encourage you to write something in your prayer and fasting journal each day. Review what you have already written and thank God for new insight and understanding.
Steady Source
A steady source of electricity is needed to power our homes and provide light wherever we want or need it.
Jesus is the steady source of power for the church.
Have you ever been without power for any length of time?
What about for an instant?
Jesus is not just our source of power, but a steady uninterrupted source of supply.
Once we surrender to Him and receive salvation, the supply is never interrupted.
Do you ever feel like you are disconnected?
I think we have all experienced that feeling.
The truth is we are never disconnected. The source is always available. Sometimes we allow the cares of our lives to run interference and our receiver gets clogged up.
Combining fasting and prayer is one way to unclog our receptors.
Anytime we deny our flesh or our desires in order to get closer to God, it’s like pouring drano down the sink or changing the spark plugs in your car, or cleaning off the battery cables.
Not sure why I know so many mechanical metaphors…
You get the point, right?
We have access to the most powerful steady source of anything we could ask, think or imagine and more!

Thank God for being our steady source!
